Don Bosco Relics Coming to Canada

A Relic of St. John Bosco (Don Bosco) (more about the relic), founder of the Society of St. Francis de Sales (Salesian Society) will visit Vancouver to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Don Bosco's birth in 1815.

The Relic of St. John Bosco includes the bone and tissues of his right hand and arm placed within a wax replica of his body in a glass box mounted on a large wood and metal cart. It travels around the world and will make a stop in Vancouver. (Ref: BC Catholic)

It will visit the Don Bosco Society Centre at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Surrey in October 9 - 11. There will be a series of activities in Don Bosco Society during its stay. Archbishop J. Michael Miller, CSB, will celebrate the October 10 Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 11:15 am. Our Alumini Association (DBAA) will organize a veneration tour and attend the Bishop Mass on Sunday, October 10, 2010. We sincerely invite all our members and members of the Salesian Family to participate in this celebration. Further information will be announced and posted here as they become available.
